Comprehensive Dentistry

Comprehensive dentistry involves the diagnosis and treatment of general conditions affecting the teeth, gums and jaw. Prevention and gum care are a fundamental part of comprehensive dentistry as they allow Dr. Lalisa to diagnose and treat problems while they are still small. Keeping up with your oral health is vital to your overall health, and it can also significantly reduce the amount of money that will need to be spent on dental treatment later in life.
If you have avoided seeing a dentist for a long time because of dental anxiety, please share your concerns with us so we can work out a solution together. For treatments requiring local anesthesia, we use the CompuDent™ system featuring the Wand. The Wand is a computer-controlled injection device that provides a steady flow of anesthesia, guaranteeing a slower, more comfortable numbing process every time. We also offer nitrous oxide (laughing gas) to help you relax.

Restorative Dentistry
Things that we take for granted with natural teeth – such as talking, smiling and eating the foods we love – can all become easier again with restorative dentistry. Dr. Lalisa and our team at Spring Hills Dentistry can determine the best of several restorative dental treatments available to patients whose smiles need a second chance, from natural looking fillings and porcelain crowns to dental implant restorations. Dental implants are effective in stabilizing dentures to fit, look and function better than removable tooth replacements. We can combine multiple restorative procedures to fit your individual oral health needs and desires for your smile.

Cosmetic Dentistry
Studies have shown that a healthy and attractive smile can raise your self-esteem and help you make better first impressions on others. Sometimes it doesn’t take much treatment for you to feel MUCH better about your smile, and there are a variety of subtle yet noticeable ways that we can enhance your smile. There are also more significant and dramatic treatment procedures (and combinations of procedures), often called “smile makeovers,” that can totally change the appearance of your smile to give you the smile of your dreams.

Periodontal Health (Gum Health)

The prevalence of gum disease increases with age, because as we age, our teeth wear down, our gums naturally recede and medications can cause oral changes. If your gums feel tender or look red and swollen, you may be at risk for gum disease. Other signs include bleeding gums, sensitive teeth, loose teeth and persistent bad breath. Left untreated, gum disease can lead to tooth loss as well as various other health problems. More and more life-threatening illnesses are being linked to the presence of dental diseases, so please call us today so we can help protect your health.
Treatment for Gum Disease
The first thing to do is get a thorough dental evaluation with Dr. Lalisa. If you have any degree of periodontal disease, she can help you. Gum disease used to require surgery more often than not. While surgery is still an option and sometimes needed, many cases are now treated with less invasive techniques first, such as deep dental cleanings, local antibiotics, and special mouth rinses. A healthy body needs a healthy mouth, and a healthy mouth needs healthy gums!
Oral Cancer Is Nothing to Smile About
Oral cancer is one of the most curable diseases when it is caught soon enough, so we screen for early detection of oral cancer. Digital x-rays help with this as well, because they allow Dr. Lalisa to see possible tumors and other problems associated with the jaws.
